An ongoing series that seeks out the essential
character of American presidents through the isolation and re-edit of gestures, expressions, and speech taken from their respective State of the Union addresses.
Aaron Valdez is an award-winning film and video artist from Houston, Texas. His work has played to international audiences at such festivals as New York Underground, Cinematexas, PDX, Thaw, Humboldt, Antimatter, Images, Dallas Video Fest, and Ann Arbor. His video installations have been featured at the Austin Museum of Art and Blue Star Artspace in San Antonio. He is a multiple recipient of the Texas Filmmakers' Production Fund and received a nomination for a Rockefeller Media Fellowship in 2003. He most recently won Best Experimental Film at the SXSW Film Festival for his latest film, Dissolve. He currently resides in Iowa City, Iowa.
