Cui Xiuwen concealed a video camera to record the activities of young women in the ladies' room of a Beijing karaoke club. She captures them unaware in candid moments as they inspect themselves in the mirror and prepare to return to the nightclub. The video explores the ambiguous status of the young women who frequent nightclubs and karaoke bars, who may be available not only for sitting or singing with clients but also for a range of sexual services.
