microRevolt projects investigate the dawn of sweatshops in early industrial capitalism to inform the current crisis of global expansion and the feminization of labor.

microRevolt is developing a web application knitPro, a protest tool that generates knit patterns of sweatshop offenders.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
microRevolt is a collective of knit hobbyists, media artists and activists concerned with global
expansion and the feminization of labor. It was founded in 2003 to develop resistance strategies
against sweatshops. Members teach classes in media studies, gender and technology, and organize media art and human rights workshops. Some venues include Eyebeam, the Guggenheim Museum, Sackler Center for Education, studio xx, and Idealist. microRevolt created knitPro, a web application and protest tool that generates logo knit patterns of sweatshop offenders.
