Multimedia Designer and Videomaker and Professor, born in 1968. His works were exhibited in USA (Anthology Film Archives, UCLA Film Department), France (Clermont Ferrand, Videoz Arts, Nantes), Germany (Hanover Film Festival, Berlin Vidofest, EMAF Osnabruek), Switzerland (Biennale de I Image an Mouvement - Centre pur l image Contemporaine), Holland (World Wide Festival, Netherlands Art Institute, EMAF - V2 Rotterdam), Spain (Injuve/Madrid, OVNI/CCCB Barcelona), among other countries of Europe and South American.
Ivan Marino's works have won main prizes in the following festivals: Hanover (International Film Festival 1997), San Paolo (Biennale of Electronic Art, Videobrasil 1998), Belo Horizonte (Brasil Forum Videofestival 1995) and Buenos Aires Video Festival (1998 & 2000, ICI-AECI Spanish Agency of Cultural Cooperation). He has been sponsored by the European Commission Culture Programme, Rockefeller & MacArthur Foundation (USA), Antorchas Foundation (Argentina), MECAD/Media Centre of Art & Design Barcelona (Spain), ZKM/Center for Art and Media, among other institutions.
He was Visiting Scholar in the Filminstitut - Hochschule der Kunste (Berlin 1997). During 1998/99 he was Visiting Scholar in the University of California at Los Angeles, Film & TV Department, where he did research and worked on media-art and related subjects. In 1999 he was granted with a multimedia fellowship by MECAD - Media Center of Art & Design - Barcelona, to work and research on the net-art field. During 2002 he received a fellowship to develop a Video project at ZKM (Center for Art and Media), Karlsruhe, Germany. Since the year 2001 Iván Marino has been working as Professor ESDI/School for Design - Ramon Llull University, Barcelona, Spain. He is in charge of the following subjects: Video Projects III, Electronic Art Projects III, Interactive Systems. He is also professor and Coordinator at MECAD/Media Center of Art, Master in Interactive Systems/Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona and member of the Steering Committee - Master on Audiovisual Communication - MECAD, BCN. Iván Marino presents his works and gives public lectures on DEAF01, V2 Rotterdam (School Forum), Holland; Netherlands Art Institute - Playingfield Program, Amsterdam, Holland, 2003; Injuve, Madrid, 1999; Salamanca University, Jornados de VÃdeo, Salamanca, Spain; Mecad, Work-presentation, Barcelona 1999; among others events.
