Born in 1969 in Pune, India, Monali Meher received her BFA in Painting from the Sir J.J. School of Arts, Bombay from 1985-1990.

2000-2001: Funded by Nuffic, Huygens grant, Amsterdam.
1999-2000: Accepted for the workperiod in Rijksakademie Van Beeldende Kunsten and funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs (BUZA/DCO/IC) in Amsterdam.
1998: ‘UNESCO--ASCHBERG’ Residency in Vienna By the Federal Chancellery for the Arts and Science.
1997: Fine Arts Award,’ Inlaks Foundation’, New Delhi.
