Wang Jianwei is one of China's best-known conceptual artists. His video works run the gamut from documentary-style productions to more theatrical efforts, often exploring the relationships of power within China's changing social and economic landscape. Spider features a group of choreographed actors in identical, anonymous masks and bodysuits, performing in the offices of one of China's largest surveillance companies.
